This is a goddamn glorious piece of meat. I cannot explain the magic of this goddamn burger, but I have fallen in love anew. The steak, which we had one bite of each, is also magnificent. The bacon and fries are incredible. The ambiance old school and classy, and the attention to detail minute. A classic.
A bit over cooked but creative as hell and damn tasty
Excellent first entry. Not enough textural variety, but the slices were spot on.
Big Pussy would be proud
Always amazing. Goddamnit I love this place. The juicy Lucy isn't quite as magnificent as the abound, but it's pretty damn phenomenal. Harmonious, flavorful, perfectly cooked (not an easy feat while stuffed with pimento cheese). blue chees fries make me feel like a man. Everyone who works here is a
Unimpressive. Cooked to a crisp and just not enough going on to make it work. Value wasn't there. Appreciated having a Rogue beer on the menu but not for $9 after conversion.
America is having a lot of problems at the moment, but we still reign triumphant in the burger department.
A burger still in search of itself. This has many nice ingredients but the overall harmonious is lacking. There is a certain insecurity that pervades the totality of it. Perhaps it's the nature of being a French burger in an American burger's world...being overlooked doesn't help. Sides are perfonctory at best.
My body is pleased. This is a complex, high-end burger in a ridiculously classy setting, at a phenomenal price (esp when happy hour is in effect. Yes, it's a hot mess and it gets everywhere (I strongly recommend removing the greens and eating separately), but these are lovely flavors and they meld together in a special way. The beef does get short shrift in the end, but I'm kind of ok with that in the end given the loveliness of the package. The fries are delightful, and a $4 Rare Vos would be a steal anywhere, let alone in these elegant surroundings.
Highly recommended. Perhaps not the top-contender since the package is so overwhelming, but I can say unequivocally that this has a seat at the table of glory.
I do not understand the legendary status of this Burger. I hold this to be an excellent diner burger, but nothing more. The patty is thick and well formed and the beef is tasty (though under salted), and the totality of it is very very pleasant, but in no way transcendent. The value is appalling - for a dollar and a half more I could have a Luger Burger, and not including fries (that are mediocre to begin with) is unimpressive. The ambiance is negligible. Toppings are standard. Perhaps the upper east side venue has more to offer, but we'll never know since it's forever banned from the club.
Not worth the hype.
There is no better way to re enter civilization after an extended stay on Antarctica than to eat this majestic slab of glorious, dry aged magnificence. I would write more but I am too overwhelmed by the experience of this incredibly high-value, high quality Burger. Holy crap. This is a burger's Burg
